Manufacturing

Pearland has long been known for its strong base of manufacturing companies. The greater Houston region is home to nearly 4,000 manufacturers that employ almost a quarter-million skilled workers. In 2009, more companies chose the Houston Region to manufacture their products than any other U.S. city. This concentration of manufacturers is a direct result of an experienced and committed workforce and readily accessible suppliers and multi-modal transportation.

Benefits for manufacturers in Pearland include:

Good Company:  Pearland is home to almost fifty manufacturers with over 3,200 workers specializing in precision steel, medical devices, power supply, pipe, turbine and heat exchange manufacturing and servicing.

Transportation:  Extensive Multimodal Infrastructure, including interstate, rail and port access, facilitates the movement of product regionally, nationally and globally.

Strategic Location:  Pearland addresses some of the most important factors in any manufacturing operation, including cost of operation, logistics and access to markets.

Incentives:  PEDC works with companies creating primary jobs to secure state and local incentives.
