FloWorks Breaks Ground on New Regional Facility in Pearland
Leading specialty supplier for energy and industrial sectors building 225,000 square-foot facility in Pearland

PEARLAND, Texas — Leadership from the City of Pearland, Brazoria County, and the Pearland Economic Development Corporation (PEDC) are excited to celebrate with FloWorks International (formerly Shale-Inland Holdings, LLC) as the company broke ground this morning on its 225,000 square-foot warehouse and operations facility in Pearland.

FloWorks International is a leading specialty supplier of pipe, valves, fittings and related products and an expert provider of flexible technical solutions to the energy and industrial sectors.  Its principal products include metal and HDPE pipe, fittings, flanges, valves, actuators, bar, and tubing.  FloWorks is headquartered in Houston and currently operates 42 facilities worldwide.

“FloWorks is excited about the new pipe, fitting, and flange (PFF) warehouse and office complex, which will allow us to consolidate existing PFF Houston operations and group management from many of our companies; including Southwest Stainless and Alloy, Multalloy, J&J Bar, and J&J Alloy,” said Frank Riddick, Chief Executive Officer of FloWorks.  “The support of the Pearland community leadership will help this team position for significant growth as a key part of FloWorks’ overall global strategy.”

The 225,000 square-foot tilt-wall building will include office, distribution and warehouse space and a 7-acre pipe yard.  The facility will be located on a 41-acre site just north of the northwest corner of State Highway 35 and Bailey Road and will be home to approximately 80 employees, including executive management, sales, operations, administrative, accounting and warehouse personnel.

“FloWorks’ selection of Pearland is a testament to our city’s efforts to create a community with both a business-friendly environment and an outstanding quality of life, stated Pearland Mayor Tom Reid. “The City of Pearland is honored to partner with FloWorks on this new facility and we look forward to their continued growth in our community for many years to come.”

The site is located in a 121.6 acre reinvestment zone that was created by the City in 2012 to encourage industrial development to create jobs and diversify and increase the community’s tax base.  The reinvestment zone, located northwest of the intersection of Bailey Road and SH 35, has been an area of focus for the City and PEDC, who have invested in utilities and infrastructure, including the Bailey Road overpass to encourage development in the area.

The PEDC, Brazoria County and city officials began working with FloWorks in late 2013 on the project. The site FloWorks selected is part of a tract currently owned by the Pearland Independent School District (PISD).  As part of a cooperative intergovernmental deal for this excess property, PISD sold approximately 40 acres on the northern portion of its 97-acre tract.

The facility is being designed and built by American Commercial Contractors, a Houston-based Design Build commercial construction company.
