AOI expands manufacturing to Pearland. Applied Optoelectronics, Inc. is investing $94.1 million to finish out its new Lower Kirby campus, where it will make optical transceivers that power AI infrastructure.
Thorpe and Endress+Hauser grow in Lower Kirby. Thorpe broke ground on an 87,750-square-foot facility, and Endress+Hauser began an 18,000-square-foot expansion of its Gulf Coast Regional Headquarters.
The Orchard moves forward. Planned Community Developers closed on approximately 120 acres for a walkable mixed-use destination at Highway 288 and Beltway 8.
A new workforce plan. Pearland launched its 2027–2031 Workforce Strategy Action Plan, shaped by more than 70 stakeholders.
