Adient Medical Expands, Relocates Pearland Office

PEARLAND, Texas – Adient Medical, along with the Pearland Economic Development Corporation (PEDC), is pleased to announce its relocation to a new 1,900 square-foot location in Pearland.  The developer of absorbable medical devices recently celebrated the opening of its new office and research space in the Reflection Bay of Shadow Creek.

“It has been a long-established initiative of the City to develop a broad spectrum of life science and healthcare related organizations in our community, stated Pearland Mayor Tom Reid. “Adient Medical’s decision to further reinvest in Pearland is a testament to our efforts and a great addition to our emerging cluster of companies that are improving medical care.”

PEDC began working with Adient Medical on its expansion in early 2017.  The company, which develops implantable medical devices that serve a useful function and then vanish from the body, is currently collaborating with partners at the Texas Medical Center.

Adient is currently developing the first absorbable Inferior Vena Cava (IVC) filter for the prevention of pulmonary embolism.  The new Pearland facility, which is home to eight employees, includes an ISO Class 7 clean room for medical device research, development and assembly.
