United Imaging expands manufacturing facility to Pearland’s Lower Kirby
Medical device manufacturer leases 216,000 square-foot for headquarters, R&D, manufacturing, and warehousing facility in Pearland’s Lower Kirby
PEARLAND, Texas — The Pearland Economic Development Corporation (PEDC) is pleased to announce that United Imaging, a global leader in advanced medical imaging technology, is expanding its manufacturing, research and development, and warehousing operations to Pearland’s Lower Kirby.
United Imaging has chosen 216,000 square feet at 11550 N Spectrum Boulevard for its new facility. The company’s expansion underscores Lower Kirby’s appeal as a hub for biotech and life science manufacturers, offering proximity to the Texas Medical Center, a strong workforce, and a business-friendly environment. Brennan Investment Group developed the class A facility and leased the building to United Imaging.
“We are excited to welcome United Imaging to Pearland,” said City of Pearland Mayor Kevin Cole. “Their presence in the Lower Kirby District strengthens our city’s growing life sciences sector and supports our mission to attract high-quality jobs and investment to the community.”
United Imaging specializes in developing and manufacturing cutting-edge medical imaging equipment, including molecular imaging, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), digital radiography, and radiotherapy solutions. The company partners with leading universities, hospitals, and research institutions worldwide to advance medical imaging technology.
“Houston has been a special home for us since 2019, where we welcome healthcare providers to our facilities from all over the U.S. and all over the world,” commented Jeffrey M. Bundy, Ph.D., CEO of United Imaging Healthcare North America. “The expansion of our local production is important for us to continue to stay ahead of continuously growing customer demand for our technology; the additional space in Pearland gives us the strategic location and capabilities we need this year. We appreciate Houston and Pearland’s commitment to advancing life science manufacturing and are proud to be an anchor tenant.”
The expansion will occur in phases over the next two years, with United Imaging expecting a Lower Kirby workforce of up to 185 employees. The company expects to begin operations at this additional Houston facility in late 2025. With this addition, Pearland’s Lower Kirby District continues to attract top-tier companies in life sciences and advanced manufacturing, reinforcing the city’s commitment to fostering innovation and economic development.
